What is the difference between disinfecting and sanitizing?
According to the EPA, a disinfectant is an antimicrobial pesticide used on inanimate surfaces and objects to destroy or irreversibly inactivate microorganisms. Disinfectants are distinguished into two categories, hospital type and general use (household). Disinfecting services for commercial facilities should use hospital type disinfectants that are used for infection control.
Sanitizers are used to reduce, but not necessarily eliminate, microorganisms from the inanimate environment to levels considered safe as determined by public health codes or regulations.
What is the cost to disinfect your facility or home?
To help make this process affordable to everyone, we have decreased our costs to between 10 and 15 cents per square foot or a minimum charge of $500.
How often should you disinfect?
For the Coronavirus crisis, it is important to get your home or facility disinfected if you have a suspected/confirmed coronavirus COVID-19 exposure. This means you know or suspect an employee or customer came into your business while infected with the virus. Even though there are no specific guidelines on how often you should spray, the amount of traffic should dictate the number of times you disinfect your location. This range is usually twice a week for high traffic areas such as doctor’s office, restaurants (take-out or dine-in), stores, physical therapy, etc., or once a week if you have a closed area with very few people who practice safe distancing. Homes can be disinfected as little as once a month.
